I just passed 30,000 views for my 300,000 words! One view every ten words.

Numbers don’t mean everything, but the thought of so many views for my work is deeply pleasing.

Even more pleasing are the 788 comments. I am grateful for each one.

My author name is Theo Jones, if you want to add to the totals…

Your score is, no doubt, much higher than 30,000, because the "counter" doesn't count repeat views. So, if someone likes one of your stories so much that they return to read it (or just the good bits) ten times, they will still only count as one view.

You can still see their return visits if you keep a keen eye on your "recently viewed" list, its just that the latest recent view will not feature in your overall total.

It would be great if you could see a real total views figure but that would encourage some authors to view their own work repeatedly, just to drive up the stats.

Congratulations. I remember the rosettes appearing on my author's homepage whenever a new milestone was reached, 'x' number of words, views, favorites, etc. It's a bit of an ego boost to see how many people are reading and enjoying your efforts. And Geoffrey is correct that they only track 'unique' views, so your actual readership is higher due to repeat customers.

That is an amazing feat. It speaks to a tremendous ability to draw in readers and to continually entertain. Congratulations on your milestone.

Congrats. I miss the old days when njrick used to announce our milestones. These days I don't really notice them.

It's even more impressive as you like to write long serials which tend to get less views per word than stand-alone stories. It doesn't necessarily mean that you get less reads as I have a strong feeling that many of views single stories get, are from readers who look at the first paragraph and decide they don't like it.

Whilst you are justly proud of your metrics, I don't think they do you justice. As Alef says the numbers are especially impressive given that you write long serials. Just imagine what they would like if you only wrote standalone stories. However, keep the serials coming.
