New serial and a hidden joke

I haven't written many serials, but the first two parts of a new one 'Hello, Mr Timmins' have now been loaded. It's a light-hearted tale about the misadventures of a hapless newly qualified teacher at a tough girls' school. I thought I'd also mention that there's a hidden joke in Part 2. Well, I don't believe it's all that obvious. So the first reader to spot it and mention it in a comment will gain some kudos.

Bugger - saw that and the penny didn't drop!

I simply saw it as a humorous reference to stair lifts. It was only reading it aloud just now that I got it.

I thought stair lifts as well.
