Most of the stories I share are complete fiction. A few have some basis in real life. However, one of my jokey pieces has almost come true in real life, as it were. The piece in question is "The Great British Tissue Shortage". OK, it hasn't happened here in Britain, but it has in Venezuela. I'm reluctant to link to a news site, so just type "Venezuela Tissue Shortage" into your favourite search engine and you will find the story. Truth really is stranger than fiction sometimes...
Oh, and the headlines, my God! "Venezuela hopes to wipe out toilet tissue shortage by importing 50 million rolls", "Toilet tissue shortage causes a stink in Venezuela", etc, etc... |
