Having recently read The Hunger Games I felt inspired to write something based in the setting that Suzanne Collins has so powerfully created. If a society is prepared to put it's children in the arena to kill each other then it would surely be happy to stage a similar event where no-one dies but plenty of punishment is given and received? I have tried to write in a similar style to Collins, using the first person, present tense and trying to keep the sentence structure as sparse as she does. I hope you enjoy my efforts - it's a series that is darker than the sort of thing I usually tend to write. A spanking dystopia. Your comments would be appreciated. |
