But I'm always nice!

I always get the blame.

kdpierre:
It is a small ( 3' ) topiary-style cone of blue spruce wrapped in sequential spirals of white lights, different gold ribbon, gold netting, different styles of gold beaded strands, and sprigs of gold leaves, all topped by a gold angel.

So, what part of the tree do you insert into your Angel?

It's the old-fashioned way for us. Ever since they were children, the daughters and I go out into the countryside and cut down a red cedar tree for Christmas (it's a unwanted nuisance tree here on the prairie). Mom, meanwhile, fixes a pot of winter soup and cornbread. The whole house smells of cedar by the time we finish supper and begin to trim our tree.

This year I'm getting a real tree. ( I prefer the real deal but my mother in law bought me a very nice fake about seven years ago.) My decorations are a hodge podge of what my mom gave me and what I have found in yard sales. I have a collection of angles I arrange on my piano with a Nativity scene and a collection of Santa s and Christmas trees I arrange together on my sideboard. I have Christmas lights strung though everything, so my home has that cozy Christmas glow. Now all I need is a Pumpkin Pie scented candle and the scene is set.

A six foot Nordman fir. I put the tree up, and do the lights.
My wife then decorates the tree beautifully.
We are expecting a houseful this Christmas but regrettably no grandchildren yet.

You've all got me in the Christmas mood, I will look for a tree with my grandson. Being much fitter, he can jump over the fence while I keep the engine running.
Marvelous!

My Christmas tree says nothing about me. I make sure it stands deferent and silent.
