I don't think so. Buried onto back pages by new posts, yes.

Sometimes they are taken down if they breach the rules, like talking about children.

Are you missing something in particular, having gone missing?

In the list under the library books, check 'Features' and then 'Forum' in the drop list. Click the type of Forum you're looking for (or check them all if you don't know what title the thread was under). An endless back-list will appear. Sometimes if many new topics come up in rapid succession, some threads fade into the background almost instantly.

A recent thread, requesting help on a realistic school punishment, which I think ran to a number of pages , disappeared overnight.
In the past , some posts have breached guidelines and then the whole thread gets deleted. It has happened in the past.
I guess the owners have to guard against any breaches of those guidelines although my preference would be to delete any offending post rather than then whole thread.

Yes that was the one I was thinking of. I thought it might be the starter of the thread might have decided to delete it. But I think it is unlikely as I started this thread and can't see a way for me to delete it.
