Calling Janus Magazine lovers

Lovely indeed, an arrogant rear just asking for a swishy cane to be put across it.

Janus was also my intro to spanking magazines. I remember an issue, maybe 46 (small size) where a mother describes how her daughter tells her that she deserves a spanking for behaving in a way for which the daughter had often been spanked by the mother. There's a delightful description of the mother's dismay as her panty crotch is exposed and then her panties are pulled down before she is spanked OTK. I now find it strange that the writer used the term panties rather than knickers in an English magazine, but maybe the writer was an American.

Spanking role reversal is my favourite. I love stories about mums being spanked by adult daughters, or teachers by pupils etc.

My all time favorite illustrator was the late Alberto Vargas, whose beautiful, evocative, and very erotic (for a teenage boy) illustrations graced Playboy magazine. His works are collectors items and easy to find on the internet. To this day I prefer illustrations to photos, fiction to video. Illustrations and words turn on the movie theatre in my mind like nothing else.
Current illustrator Persephone draws a mean cover illustration.

I once owned numerous Janus magazines. My favorite part was the letters.
Others magazines I liked for letters was Mt. Magazines, Crack and Sting, also for the letters, true or not.

One of my very favourite aspects of Janus was the superb artwork. Paula Russell’s still appears frequently on the internet and rightly so, but the TOP artist for me was Hardcastle. Nobody could capture an intense scene, particularly a severe one, like Hardcastle, whatever happened to him/her?

I agree that Hardcastle was excellent - one of my favourite set of illustrations was ‘naughty nurse’ in Janus 101 where she is bent over a stool in tight leather trousers to be strapped by Sister before bending over a piece of medical apparatus to have her bare bottom caned by the administrator. His best ever illustration was in Janus 113 where the Principle has a student at a Swiss Finishing School bending right over a high back chair completely naked waiting for six strokes of the cane. There is a Janus Collection book called The Hardcastle Selection and in the same series another book just with Paula Meadows illustrations

Oh I so agree about the Swiss finishing school picture, what a perfect position to have one’s subject present herself in. Thanks for the tip, I’ll look out for that Janus Collection book.

I wonder if the renown owner of Nuwest, Ed Lee found his inspiration from 'The Swish Finishing School' layout in Janus for his masterpiece.

I remember Paula Meadows/Russell doing a photoshoot where she attempted to get into some of the positions that she'd drawn spankees in!

She was known to use her own bottom and a mirror to draw the bottoms of her 'victims' - whether she arranged to get herself spanked for added realism I can only imagine...
