That it really funny, that the original was German.

Myself, I can't remember coming across any spanking fiction in Germany.

My first encounter was on amazon more or less by accident. It was a story of an irresponsible college age party girl and her nerdy and responsible 6th grade sister whom she plans to get into a reform school as revenge for a discussion about house keeping (how to spend their allowances). Except for the loopholes in the mistaken identity it was a fun read.

Just a few things to clarify, Moody. On Strict Spanking, we show pretty good proof that the original German work "Lenchen im Zuchthause" was published in 1840. So, this is a very old tale.

Next, it really isn't "spanking fiction". A far more accurate classification of the story is that it's about "judicial corporal punishment". Reinhart, the author, was not a professional writer, but a high-ranking individual in the German government. At one time, he was in charge of several penal institutions. Unfortunately, we are no closer to understanding his intention in writing this book. Our speculation is that he believed corporal punishment was only marginally effective with women inmates.

Again, this is our "speculation", but we have his notes which were handwritten in a script very difficult to convert into modern German. We haven't completely given up, but this is a significant roadblock to further progress.

Do you have his notes in hand written form or typed?

At the university library I once found the10-20 volumes of the history of the Franco-Prussian war 1870-1871 from the general staff. It was a pain to read because in that time Suetterlin (it's a typeset) was in use. I think that the letter 'e' or 'r' looked like a 's'.

Reinhart sounds like judicial punishment name Puretough (rein = pure and hart = hard or tough)

Moody, my good friend in Germany has images of Reinhard's (sorry about the previous misspelling) handwritten notes. These he obtained from the library where Reinhard's papers were sent upon his death.

Most of the "papers" are over 200 years old. This handwriting is most difficult to understand. In the meantime, my friend has suffered some very poor health, so I don't know if his efforts will ever get any further.

Tired
