I spent two years working in Germany back in the 70's and met one unfortunate American soldier who must have cursed being stationed in Germany like you were.

- Being stationed in Germany was a much better alternative than the other one place in the 70's, Vietnam.
I feel I was lucky for a variety of reasons, needless to say.
