Age of consent for spanking

Clearly the law is different in US and Europe, and even within different US states and European countries.

In many European countries there is a legal ban on corporal punishment of children. Consensual spanking could therefore only occur between adults . But when does a minor become an adult. Is it the age of majority, the age of maturity, the age of sexual consent? It perhaps says more about our individual legal systems that all these 'ages' exist and are different.

It is interesting though, that while, today, the authorities, legislators or courts, endeavour to protect children from corporal punishment, in the past , when ruling on school corporal punishment , the courts and the politicians, tended to side with the teachers who administered the punishment.

And as I said in the previous post, the courts, at least here, have rules that you might still be successfully sued even if consent is implied.
