Does anyone here on the forum knows how is the tradition of Easter Monday spanking (or birching) doing in Slovakia and Czechia?

I have seen videos, probably on YouTube, but whether they post-date the 2000-2005 period when it died out in Poland I cannot be sure. It seemed to be almost ceremonial rather than serious smacks. I also got the impression it was more in Czechia (especially Moravia) than Slovakia, but I don't know where I got that idea. It would be good to hear from anyone who actually knows what they are talking about!

As regards birthday spankings, I had always thought of these as an American custom. We (i.e. Britain / Ireland) had an old custom, no longer practised as far as I am aware, of giving people the bumps, but that seems different. In the light of JohnBlack's posts, I wonder if birthday spankings were introduced into the US from the 'old country' by East Europeans. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

I think it died out because it was considered dangerous, which I'm sure it was as the force involved was unpredictable. Although it involved impacts on the bottom, it never held any appeal for me, unlike a proper birthday spanking, and that never seems to have taken root in the UK, although we copy the US in lots of other things.

I am also wondering if 18th (or indeed other than 18th ) birthday spankings/strappings are practiced in other countries in CEEuropean region. Internet is full of Polish Pasowanie/Strapping videos but I could not find anything for regional countries even using google translated search phrases in Czech/Slovak/Ukrainian/Hungarian. Maybe someone is from the region and can assist.

This is fascinating stuff. In my opinion spankings as real discipline died out in UK homes and schools (OK, I appreciate it isn't entirely dead, but much reduced) when the erotic side of spanking began to be generally appreciated--it could corrupt spankees into liking it, it could be done for the sexual pleasure of the spanker etc and for a similar reason--it is highly erotic for some participants--birthday spankings for 18 year old girls in a party setting would be inconceivable here, in the UK.

If I am correct in that (it couldn't happen if everyone knew that for some it was highly erotic) then I would expect little general appreciation of those erotic aspects in eg Poland.

Am I right? Do the Poles generally, not appreciate the erotic attraction of spanking?

In my opinion and from my experience around 35%-45% of Polish females respond positively in erotic setting to spanking. That is not to say they are fully fledged masochists.

Looking at most films from the playlist, a basic sadistic trait is present in most young people that deliver the strapping. Older family members are usually more restrained but there are exceptions. Also it is noticeable that the harder the spank generally more enthusiastic the response of the party guests.

I would therefore be swayed into assuming that in general population in Poland (but probably elsewhere as well) a sadistic element to their personality can be easily found and activated. A sadistic facet both grounded in sexual as well as in extra sexual part of their psychological constitution.

Perhaps I should move to Poland. In my experience it is only about 10% of sexually active UK females who respond positively to spanking. Perhaps that is because feminism is so well established here and enjoying being spanked (and the domination that is often part of it) is so anti-feminist.

You missed my question John, and concentrated on the behaviour of the spankers. I am not at all surprised that when invited to do so, most people enjoy spanking hard. It is a fun thing to do and doesn't necessarily mean they are sadists--give a whack, watch/hear the reaction. What's not to like? Even if it doesn't turn you on.

My theory is that spanking, whether for fun (birthday parties) or punishment of children/young people, becomes unacceptable in a society which understands that it can be a sexual activity and that many people take sexual pleasure from it.

If my theory is correct, then I would expect there to be little understanding of the sexual element to spanking in Poland, or those birthday punishments would be impossible.

Am I correct, or do Polish people understand that spanking is sexually exciting for many people?

Ok, I see. You are right, perhaps.

In Poland we do not have a rich tradition of eroticising spanking. There is relatively small body of spanking erotic fiction. No spanking parties that I know of or such. Unlike Czechia or Hungary Poland does not produce any spanking porn.

On the other hand many women I was intimate with (or at least had discussed sexual matters with) would happily mention spanking, would tell me that they sought spanking, and almost all (if the relation was intimate) would except spanking in playful or sexual setting often up to a level of light to moderate marking.

In my opinion both British and Polish societies sexualised spanking however there are crucial differences.

In Britain the national psyche is self aware of this sexualisation but because the British culture had for last 50 odd years been hijacked by postmodernists and intersectional feminists therefore spanking (even though pushed onto the fringes of public discourse) when presented is shown as some unsavory reenactment of the patriarchal past.

In Poland the sexualisation of spanking is first and foremost naive and not at all a part of cultural discourse. Spanking is mostly regarded as quirky and now mostly obsolete method of punishment which (for some strange reason ) at some atavistic level most females (who biologically are more likely to have a submissive sexual reaction profile) will easily find erotic even if they are not die hard masochists (or members of this forum). The other crucial difference is that Polish society never took fondly to feminist talking points. It is a well known fact that Polish women have always run Polish families and pretty much always had final say in most matters. Females in Poland seldom felt a need to be represented by progressive feminists. In effect Polish females are much more in touch with their feminine and submissive side, certainly in the sexual context.

I suspect that without going on 60 years of constant intersectionality and feminisation of British culture and society most British females would also be much more welcoming to having their backside spanked (for thrill, fun or for sexual kicks) and would not be so embarrassed to mention this desire in public.

It's really cute how you say things like "post-modernists" and "intersectionality" because you think people won't know what they are and it makes you sound smart, but it's totally obvious from the way you use them that you've only heard about them from reactionary internet weirdos and you don't understand what they mean at all.

That's rather strong, Skekpen. It's obviously something that you feel strongly about.

I've corresponded with John Black, off this page, and his writing didn't strike me like that at all. He is also, I think, a non-native English speaker. I am full of admiration for his command of English and wish that I was half as competent in the non-English languages that I attempt.

either his command of english isn't good enough to hide the tracks, or he just doesn't care to. half his posts are full of really not-subtle dogwhistles. nobody talks about feminists or postmodernists infiltrating and warping cultures unless they spend a lot of time around fascists, since that's just what fascists believe. I'm kind of baffled how what he writes couldn't strike you that way.
