Texas mom spanking news story

Hi Forum! Has anyone else seen the recent news footage of the Texas mom spanking her fourteen year-old son with a belt in the middle of the highway, after she first discovered he had taken out her BMW for a joyride and then, with the boy's older sister in tow, chased him down in another car? I would post a link, but I'm not sure what the rules are about posting r/l footage (although this WAS on the news)--searching 'Texas mom spanking' ought to pull it up. The video itself is actually more funny than anything--you never see the kid at all, just the mom opening the BMW's door and flailing away inside the car with the belt, while his sister, who is filming from the car behind them, giggles. The truly scary part is the mom's bloodcurdling scream as she pulls up alongside him: "Pull over, NOOOOOWWW!!" Oh and the way she calmly tells the sister, "give me the belt" as she is opening her door to get out. Even though as I say, it's kind of funny really, it punched my buttons in so many ways--the VERY public nature of it, the laughing sister filming it (and then posting the footage online, which is apparently how the story broke--for which she evidently suffered NO adverse consequences herself WHATSOEVER!!) The fact that the mom is pretty hot certainly doesn't hurt, nor the fact that, in addition to grounding her son "until 2019" and taking away his phone and video game privileges, she apparently ALSO had his bedroom door taken OFF ITS HINGES, so she could keep an eye on him "at all times." Which actually was a detail from one of my stories--is it possible I somehow manifested this event from my twisted imaginings? If so, sorry about that, kid.

I've seen the news footage on youtube. I just shook my head. The more thins change the more they stay the same.

This might be fodder for the spread of stereotypes concerning Texans and their preferred method of discipline! Texans are not sissies or pushovers, are they? And they don't hang out with the no-spank movement.

Sooooo funny - great Mum and a very sneaky older sister.

It will be interesting to see if the local Social Services / Children's Services gives their tacit approval to what happened, or if there's an investigation.

I'm no fan of spanking children, but that application of the belt was far from brutal. I'm guessing that, in Texas, the authorities won't be taking action. I'm more impressed with the other discipline - not even the grounding so much as taking away his electronics. Ouch!

Have heard of parents being arrested for that sort of thing, even if the physical punishment was not severe. Taking off his bedroom door is over the top. Could see the boy becoming a runaway. That has been known to happen.
This of course could have ended tragically. Suppose he had refused to pull over and an accident resulted.
Confess story would have been more along the lines of my interests if it had been a mother paddling a teenage daughter for doing something like that, instead of ason. Like catching her texting while driving, both illegal and dangerous.

Given how pissed off Mom was I'm sure she gave tacit approval (or at least chose to look the other way) on her daughter posting her brother's comeuppance. Given that the dumbass was underage and driving without a license he got off easy compared to being pulled by a cop. Lying to her about where he was didn't help matters any for him.

I had a coworker take his stepdaughter's door away for a week and found that to be a highly effective attitude adjuster (she liked to slam her bedroom door, which was hard to do when she no longer had one).

And of course she had to change her clothing in the bathroom or give her stepfather a show...

Some of the teenagers I've known would have done just that - changed when people would see them as they played the martyr. The sort of "you're making me do this" or "it's your fault I'm doing this" mentality.

In the case in Texas, every single person he knows has seen him getting the belt from his mom. That's a wonderful thing in a story, less so in real life... Thinking back here to when virtually everyone I knew had outgrown spankings and how embarrassing it was for the few who were still spanked.

Actually their master bedroom was at the other end of the house and she only had a sister, so it was more of an inconvenience of being unable to block out the world than being exposed to her stepfather.
