Not sure where you're getting your information from, GG - but I just showed this to my girlfriend, who's French and came up through the French education system in the 70's and 80's (and who also has friends who are French schoolteachers). She shrieked with laughter and said this sounded like some kind of dystopian fantasy.

Well I got it from the website I linked to and quoted from.

To recap:
I use a form of punctuation that some people do not believe is correct, but there is no issue in people understanding what I am saying.

English does not have a central authority. France does.

I don't come here to debate.

Actually, I probably won't be coming here for another 2 - 3 weeks. My retina has detached again and I am going in for another operation today. I won't be able to look up for weeks. I don't see the need to continue this discussion.
