I can see that this could work with some people. I truly believe corporal punishment can have a cathartic effect on the emotional / mental state of mind, through actual physical pain. As long as it is separated from the 'kink', and not considered punishment, we should endorse it!

So getting caned releases endorphins in your body that makes you happy? I knew that! I think this valuable psychological treatment should be spread as rapidly as possible to the western world.

I thought the theory behind this would be based on aversion theory, not tapping the addict's natural endorphins.

Live and learn. If this actually works (how could you do a double blind study here?) then I can see this spreading. If not it will be just another junk theory that is quickly forgotten.

What if you do enjoy it, then what is the penalty?
Well there is a belief by many, that a good therapist should have undergone therapy themselves before they become therapists, so that might cover the penalty issue.

I dunno, she might quite enjoy that as well!
