And then there is the use of the word "switch" to refer to someone who both gives and receives, rather than the implement of correction.

There are some switches (noun-person) that switch (verb) with switches (noun-object).
Long ago, there was a commercial that went "I'd Rather Fight Than Switch". Seemed backwards to me.
