I am a 90% spankee. However, both Tom and I enjoy a little role reversal every now and then. I love nothing better than being draped over his lap and the anticipation of that first firm kiss of his hand on my bum.

But to answer the question, in real life I'm a bottom and not interested in switching. I have wondered if I even could do it. Not with my husband, for sure, but if the spankee were a man at least 10 years younger than me, and smaller or very scrawny built, then I suppose I could try it. I'm not sure that I would get any enjoyment out of it, though.

However, although I read more M/F and F/F, I do like to read F/M from time to time (and M/M, but there isn't as much of that on here). I tend to imagine myself either as a witness in the story, or as the spanked man, rather than the woman doing the spanking.

I too would like to hear opinions from more of the women here.
Several thoughts... I don't doubt that some women think that there are men who at times act like boys and could use a spanking.
The problem mentioned by previous commentators is the idea that men can never allow themselves to submit, or in some cases even show emotion. That inner struggle and pressure isn't good and affects how they relate to others, especially women.
Unfortunately, a lot of female spankers are pros, or at least into the party/dungeon scene. Yet, I think there are more than a few regular women who could or would spank under the right circumstances. Stories with that in them I find very relatable, not that I don't like other scenarios. Does anyone else agree or care to reply?

It has been my experience that ladies that see the man who disciplines their bottom doesn't like to see him spanked by a lady.

F/M-smeshfem, poTAYto/poTAHto, people are people, and in my experience, while there are some differences between M/F relationships and F/M ones, people who fall into each category exist quite similarly...........just in differing percentages. Dominant women sound similar to dominant men when describing their feelings, as do sub men and sub women. In my life so far, I have entered into relationships of varying lengths and intensities with about seven dominant women (half of whom had some degree of switch tendency from very occasional to more 50/50 and the other half happily in charge 100% of the time), and about two exclusively sub women with no desire to switch. So "yes" ladies can like F/M, and some like nothing else. (You just have to find them...............and I've either been lucky or have some weird radar that has led me to more than my fair share.)

It should be noted though that women who like to call the shots in many many areas, still like to be courted and protected. It is why I have always gravitated towards the "Knight/Lady model" of F/M, rather than the weak slave with no will or skill set to offer. One dominant woman in my life told me that the biggest thrill of dominating me was because of our differences that would lead an outsider to see me as the dominant and yet SHE got to control me like a lion tamer controlling a lion.

Another thing I've noticed is that a lot of the dominant women in my life had a similar past where they were held back by men and even belittled by them. So when a certain type of woman gets fed up with the societal assumption of the man in charge being the default setting, having the chance to dominate and turn the tables can be very appealing.

Looking at other kink communities in the years since this question was first posted, I'm happy to report that there's a massive generational shift here. This site's users (or at least posters) skew older. In spaces inhabited by people born in the late eighties and onward, there's vaaaaastly more female spankers. I really do think it's just a matter of openness.
