PattyGolden:
Humiliation and embarrassment are an integral part of spanking stories for me. In fact I specifically look for stories where the person being spanked receives his or her spanking from someone that they either hate or dislike or have an (unrequited) crush on. Because of some of the ways that gender influences relationship dynamics (in Western/American society) this is usually a girl spanking a boy or a girl spanking a girl, though it doesn't have to be.
Well, as I've stated earlier in this topic thread, I make a distinction between humiliation, which I consider close to degradation, and embarrassment, which I believe is a natural and normal result of a person being spanked--especially should it involve some degree of nudity by the spankee, notably in the presence of opposite-gender spankers and/or witnesses.
Since in the stories I read (and occasionally write), I tend to identify with the primary punishment recipient (usually but not always male) who is spanked by a feminine chastiser, for the most part I prefer there to be a caring and/or friendly, or at least not point-blank unfriendly, relationship between the characters on the opposite sides of the hairbrush, paddle, strap, etc. In my imagination, I'd much rather be bare-bottom blistered by a female whom I get along with as opposed to one whom I don't care for personally.
Still, on infrequent occasion I do find the exact reverse to be appealing in a spanking account, probably because of the refreshingly blunt starkness of a spankee being walloped by someone he/she has strongly negative feelings toward; it's simply a 'change of pace' in spanking-oriented writing, something which I appreciate only once in a while.
However, I'm not referring to the length and/or intensity of the corporal correction, I've enjoyed reading (and sometimes writing) about extremely severe punishments delivered by disciplinarians who truly love the individuals whom they're chastising so thoroughly.
Perhaps there will be a Library writing Challenge dealing with "Unfriendly Spankings" someday, that could be rather intriguing--or even one dealing with "Unrequited Love," that would be truly challenging...
