Spanking Fiction vs Erotica

I started my writing 'career' with some fiction for a hypno-erotic site I liked to frequent. It was in response to a plea for stories from the site owner who put a huge amount of effort into the site and was asking members for stories as a contribution to keep the site active and an attractive web destination.

One of those stories had some flavor of spanking in it and was spotted by Flopsy; she asked if it could be posted here. The rest is history; as the other site wound down, I started writing spanking stories for LSF. My writing has evolved and much of what little I do produce is probably closer to BDSM erotica than spanking fiction. Sometimes I get called out on that (in a most kind way) by readers, but I often feel bad for the administrators when I ask them to post as I am putting them in an awkward position.

The bottom line is that I will post stories here on LSF that are definitely spanking related, but more of what I create, while it may lead up to chastisement of some kind, it would be a bit of a stretch to call it spanking erotica. I am increasingly reluctant to ask for it to be posted here. Gail, if the admins thought they were put in an awkward position they would say so. I've seen some real borderline 'porn' here in A FEW of the stories, but evidently the admins let them fly. I personally think they add to the story. I have one that's down right nasty, but bless her heart, Flopsy let it go. I would not have blamed the head librarian if she deleted it or not posted it at all. I received a few comments on it that called me on it, too. I did not blame them at all. Since then I've toned down my dark side.

I agree with Bendy. Send the story in and if Flopsy and Februs don't like it or feel it inappropriate, they'll let you know (and know why). Likely they'll let you alter it enough to fit the parameters of the LSF. My second "That 70's Show" story was significantly more sexually oriented and they asked me to tone it down a little and I did and they posted it. So you never know...

There is no "bright line" that separates spanking stories from BSDM stories. A good spanking story may contain an element of BDSM, just like a good BDSM story might contain an element of straight spanking.

I've read many of your stories and even made one of those "BDSM" comments. But that was a comment, not a criticism. I've never had a problem with any of your stories. A far as I'm concerned, if our staff has no problem with what you are submitting, there is no problem.
