I was watching a episode of Veronica Mars yesterday (season 1, episode 6, titled "Return of the Kane." )At the end of the episode, Logan Echolls, played by Jason Dohring, went to a closet and selected a belt. He took it to another room and handed to his father. His father told him to close the door. He did, and in a few seconds, you could hear the sounds of the belt striking something. Male-male spanking is not my thing, but I thought some on here might be interested.

There is also a movie called The White Ribbon in which a young boy goes to a closet and gets what looks like a handmade cane. He takes it to another room and, when he opens the door, there are people waiting for him in there both male and female, young and old. When he closes it, you can hear the whacks begin.

Aaron Echolls was highly abusive to Logan. They only show it that once and that's the only time the belting is referenced, but there are other stories during the show about various things Aaron did to Logan. The character was like that, although strangely enough he never abused his daughter, to the extent that she didn't believe Logan's stories about what Dad did to him.

Seegee, I agree completely. Logan's dad was a monster. Logan was prone to get into mischief, but compared to his father, he was a saint. by the way, sounds like you're a Veronica Mars fan. I'm surprised that it reached Australia. So few people watched it here in the USA. I haven't seen all the episodes yet, but have them all on DVD now, including the movie, and am watching them all in order.

Huge fan, Wheatwine. We got it here a bit late, but it was shown on network TV here, although I think I saw the 3rd season on DVD before they deigned to show it. One of the cable networks is screening them all at present. I also saw and in fact own a copy of the recent movie. In addition my wife (also a fan of the show, although not as into it as I am) bought me a copy of the spin off book, which is a pretty decent noir whodunnit set just after the events of the movie. Actually worth a read. What Aaron did to Logan in the episode that was referenced here had very little to do with punishing Logan for what he'd done, it was done for a couple of reasons, one was that Aaron received some sort of perverse pleasure out of hurting people and the other was that Logan had by his actions embarrassed Aaron, and he would not allow that to go unpunished.
