Last time I asked I got no answers, so I'll ask again many years later: do any of you Brits have a homemade recipe? I know there are lots of them on cooking sites, I've tried them all but they aren't like what I ate in England when I was there. So please do give me your recipes if you've got any. Thank you.

Is there any particular chutney you have in mind? There are so many different chutneys to choose from.

I was thinking of a fresh fig chutney, the figs in my garden being ripe.

That's very nice of you, except that I don't live in the US o South Africa, I'd prefer answers from UK members.
I'll try making my own fig chutney.

I really hate to appear dumb, but when it comes to chutney I am! I have heard it mentioned on cooking shows, etc, but I have no clue about chutney. Is it like jelly or jam? Thanks, barb

Barb, chutney is a spicy relish used for flavouring made from various fruit cooked with different spices. Lovely.
Ordalie, Tesco sells mrs balls chutney, I buy it here in the uk.
