Wow. I hardly recognized John Malkovich. He was so young-looking in this. I remember this scene from seeing the movie years ago but pretty much forgot everything else. Couldn't have been too bad; the boy was barely teary-eyed...

I did think of mentioning Places in the Heart, but didn't as the belting took place off screen.
