I'm considering a long weekend writers retreat to try and spark some creativity and hone my (non-kinky) writing skills. Any writers here ever attend one of these types of retreats, and did it benefit you? I'm talking general fiction workshops where you are with other writers to help motivate you, and you do writing exercises and share your work, etc. Too many of the things I've found online seem geared to those writing novels who want critiques and to meet literary agents. Not what I'm looking for.

If anyone has specific suggestions of U.S. locations, groups, etc based on personal experience, please send me a pop up or contact me via the email addy on my author page. Thanks! Janine

Never been to one, but the Seattle area is famous for this type of thing.
