Has anyone else ever auditioned to become part of the professional spanking ranks?

Hi and thanks for the information. I have to agree with some of what you've said about Firm Hand. Their models are beautiful, but their videos lack some of the things I look for.

Basically the story of my company started when a girl who was a childhood friend of a guy I worked with in video production (in a non-fetish job) approached him and asked if he would be interested in running her site and shooting videos. He had to decline as he was married, but referred her to me since he knew I had some experience as well as a love for rather kinky ladies.

Sarah (not her real name) originally conceived of the site as mainly being a used panty selling site with some videos featuring her wearing the panties in various scenarios. I managed to talk her into branching out into other fetishes and in doing so, I more or less woke up her inner spanko that she never knew she had. As luck would have it, her day job ended up moving her to the Middle East where she met a guy and married him within about 6 months. He demanded that the site be taken down so at Sarah's behest, I did away with it. Less than a month after this, Irene came through and I lost nearly all of my equipment.

Anyway, if I ever get the money together to buy some more and can find women interested, I suppose I wouldn't be completely opposed to starting up a new company at some point.

I agree. Most of the videos on most of the sites leave a lot to be desired. I'd like to see someone make some videos with a decent script and models who can ACT. I've often wondered if a company could succeed making spanking videos with an interesting story outside the spanking scenes and giving the characters a little depth that would allow viewers to get emotionally involved. (I'm sure there are a lot of stories in the LSF that could be adapted into screenplays.)
But maybe there are too few spankos who would pay for that. Those of us here who appreciate a good story might, but I'm sure there are a lot who only want the minimum spanking scene it takes for them to find physical gratification.

In their earlier years (going up to about 2003) they used to be a little bit better. They used to have more in-depth story arcs and lots of build up before any actual spankings. I remember one in which they had a scene where Shannon Carson was bound and gagged wearing naught but a pair of panties. When the Headmaster freed her they found the culprits and spanked them quite thoroughly.
Now in their videos, it generally just starts with the spanking and the girl, beautiful as she may be, more or less just lying there like a corpse.

Even if you join their site, they for whatever reason have removed a lot of their earliest (and best) content. I'm not sure if there's any possible way of finding those videos again.

I've never acted in a spanking video (alas), but back in the day when UK spankings mags like Janus and Februs were thriving, I appeared in several photoshoots. Good fun they were too. And after all, spanking a pretty girl on her bare bottom and getting paid for it - can't be bad...

First off, Thanks Janine for pulling up the article I referred to. I couldn't remember the exact volume in appeared in. I agree, back in the day Firm Hand had some decent videos back when Natasha Edwards and Shannon Carson were there. It seems as time went on their videos just got well, lamer and lamer. The tops they have leave a lot to be desired. Anyway, not to rag on these guys to much, I already have, what really gets to me is that you can't even get a response. I have contacted them more than once but no luck.

Why would the owner pay for someone to top when he can do it himself?

To answer your question virginiacherry, Firm hand has several male tops and they have an application form for models interested in working for them. The form is mainly for female models but male spankers can also use it to apply. Many of the spanking sites do just have the owner doing the spanking but then doesn't this get kinda boring seeing the same guy over and over again. Real Spankings and Real Spankings Institute owned my Michael Masterson who also does almost all of the spanking also has from time to time other male spankers as well.
