AdBots galore!

Anyone else notice the ContextAdBot, Genieo, GrapeshotCrawler and ProximicSpider on the site? What do the random bots do, apart from ad stats?

From the little I understand, these bots visit websites to look for keywords and examine the content of the site. Februs would have to address this. Although, there are other bots on this site as well as other sites. It's just a matter of being online no matter what site where people are registered users. A lot of these bots create tracking cookies that are signaled whenever we use our keyboards for something on a site. I tend to believe these bots show up on sites such as chat rooms and other sites where there is a list of names. Most Anti-Viruses delete them when a scan is run.

I don't seem to get adbots here, that could be due to using a Mac and using the site via Safari.

The bots that we detect visit most sites, it's just that the LSF software shows their identity based on their user agents. Their view of the site is the same as a non-registered user so they will see very little. If you want to know what they do, some of them have websites which explain what they're all about, e.g:
