The Kindle is so difficult sometimes. Other Android tablets work best for viewing content in my opinion!

All of the advice above is useful. In regard to having a Kindle reader and Kindle on your PC, you can have them both. Don't know why your PC version might have disappeared, but go to Amazon and download Kindle for PC again and it should work. All of your books, legitimately purchased should be available on both.
