What mainstream spanking Art caught your eye before you knew you were a Spanko?

I've just noticed smeple asking people to search for a story called 'And the Beat goes on'. I'd like to point out that i've got a story in the library by that title as well, just to avoid confusion (and get in a Shameless Plug)!

The "Carrie" strip in the old "Mayfair" had an episode in which she was a teacher, was grabbed for nefarious purposes by schoolboys and then was discovered by the Headmaster, who of course assumed (or chose to pretend he assumed) that she was at fault. She ended up bare-bottomed though still in her old-fashioned teacher's gown, tied to a table while the Head stood ready with a vicious-looking knobbly cane.

I had discovered an interest in spanking before that, but that was the first artwork that really turned me on.

I once (1970s) bought a souvenir wooden paddle that read "HEAT FOR THE SEAT" and featured a drawing that was clearly based on that Coppertone image; it was obviously supposed to be the same little girl, without the puppy but with her bathing suit pulled down to upper thigh level in the rear, showing off reddened bumcheeks--she was frowning unhappily and had a teardrop sliding down her face, obviously having just been spanked.

The last time I looked at a Coppertone 'water babies' product (sunscreen for children), the girl's suit was still being pulled on by the puppy but it was staying up--I figured that perhaps the change was an overreaction to the possibility of being accused of "kiddie porn" on the company's part... --C.K.

IIRC I mentioned this once in an earlier thread, but Calvin did get spanked twice, both times unhappily off-panel--once by his father for creating a commotion in his bedroom and then trying to blame it on Hobbes (who was merely a stuffed animal to anyone except Calvin), plus once by his mother for squirting her with a garden hose after she'd dressed up formally to go out for the evening.

I'm certain that Miss Wormwood would've appreciated having the authority to paddle Calvin's behind in class--and Susie Derkins would've greatly enjoyed watching it happen... --C.K.

There was a Calvin and Hobbs run (maybe a week long) of him and Susie being sent to the principal's office and them being afraid that they would be paddled. Susie pointed out to him that girls "have more delicate heinies". By the time the principal comes out they've worked themselves into such a lather that they are crying for him not to paddle them (not that he was planning to).

There was also one spanking in FoxTrot where Jason pulls tries to pull the Fifth Amendment on his mother and later (with pain lines coming from his bottom) says "Someone should tell congress that the 5th Amendment doesn't apply to the butt". I can see countless mothers saying that over the years, but other than that one time I don't think Jason was ever hauled over a lap. That one spanking must have come as a shift in 'spanking is acceptable for newspapers' was happening.

I remember the series when Calvin and Susie were sweating being spanked by the principal, especially Susie. I think that's as close as Calvin came to an actual on-panel spanking. Some artist did a series of pics of a "grown-up" Calvin finding his old pal Hobbes in a cardboard box in the attic labeled "Calvin's Toys" or something and him looking affectionately at the old stuffed toy. There were also some views of him and grown-up Susie (both still have the same haircuts) and they're obviously a couple (and Susie is quite the little fox). I can imagine Susie being overjoyed to see Calvin get his butt paddled by his mom, as he made her life hell as a child. I can also imagine an older Susie maybe taking Calvin in hand herself, perhaps as a teenager, after they've started dating. I always loved that strip...

I also remember a few spankings on "For Better Or Worse" by Lynn Johnston. After her mother died (in the strip) she was talking with her elderly father and he said something like "a good spanking never hurt anyone" while she had a thought bubble above her head: "That's because it wasn't YOU getting spanked!" so evidentally she was spanked growing up. Also there was one memorable one where Mike was being spanked over his Dad's lap with his pants pulled down (bare bottom!) for fighting with another kid with his father taking the ironic position that he'd teach his son violence was wrong by spanking him. I cut that one out of the newspaper at the time but have since lost it.

There's an artist named Colegeboy who does some "satire" pics of some of these strips ("Foxtrot", "For Better or Worse" and some others showing the characters getting spanked. Another artist named Karstens also has done many "comic strip" spankings including "Buffy" and there's someone else (not sure of the name) who has done many "spanking" knock-offs including most all of the characters in "Luann" (including the parents) and "Family Circus", "Dennis the Menace" (Dad spanking Mom), "Hi and Lois" and many others. He's also done many Disney characters getting spanked: Jasmine, Ariel, Jane and Tarzan, etc. I have collected any of these types of pics that I've been able to find as I find them very tittilating to view (or to imagine).

I remember For Better Or Worse, and also CollegeBoy's takes on it in Bared Affair.
But a barebottom spanking in a newspaper comic strip? Find that a bit hard to believe. Sure it wasnt some spank site work.
Another comic character that could use a good spanking is Kathy. Don't recall anything close. Be a good one for an artist who adapts mainstream comics characters to a spanko world to do.

Another mainstream comics spanking I remember was from a comic strip called Lancelot, or Lance and Lori.
In it Lori, Lance's wife, was complainimng to him that he never did anything for her, like all the things her father did for her. She went on and on, nagging. In the last panel she has her over his knee spanking her and saying "I bet your father did this sometimes too."
The name Lancelot reminds me of a great ,though not shown, spanking in Prince Valiant . In it this bratty 14 year old girl is pestering Prince Arn, Valiant's son. She decides to play a practical joke on him but he figures out what is happening and instead the girl's mother falls into the trap. It ends with the girl being led away by her mother , who has selected "her flattest hairbrush", and then in the final panel Arn smiling as he hears her yelps and cries from her mother's bedroom!.
Of course there is Valiant spanking Aleta but I never saw that one until a few years ago, thanks to the Web.
