I went to see "SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody" last night. It was a low-budget, two-act play that poked fun at that horrible book and its author. There were only 3 actors, no scenery or props to speak of, and very few costume changes. The 99% female audience was loud and exuberant, drowning out the actors at times. I sometimes forget how raunchy a crowd of women can be.

I was a disappointed that no actual spanking occurred, though they did talk and sing about it. That might have made it worth it.

What a waste of a good opportunity!

I'd demand a refund - false advertising!

Well I'm glad I didn't waste my money then! The same traveling production was here last week. Did the audience get grey ties as souvenirs? That might have been worth it.

Yeah, it's really a let down when a person goes to see something they count on happening in something like this, and then it doesn't. Most of the loud crowd was probably due to the way they were let down. Maybe they should have been spanked then and there for poor performance.

No, but they did sell souvenirs - lipstick vibrators, T-shirts, and cat-o-nine-tails (but sold out of those). I bought a T-shirt, but have no idea why since I can't really wear it out anywhere. Guess I can sleep in it.

The loud crowd was hooting when the guy danced and posed and whipped his tie off, which was fairly often.

Just his tie and not his girlfriend? What a waste.

If ever there was a work that deserved to have fun poked at it, that's the one. It started life as a Twilight fanfic, which seems totally understandable.

This play looks like a complete waste of time. I have not and have no plans of reading the book.
