Why Spanking Stories?

Why spanking stories? For some of us, they rplace the spankings we don't have the opportunity to give or get... or to supplement the ones we do.

For different people, spankings can be arousing (as you said), cathartic (as noted by supermario), correctional (true discipline), or perhaps others things, or combinations of these.

Why spankings of children (in stories)? Some here prefer NOT to read such stories. For others, perhaps its imagining a return to childhood - one lived, or one only imagined. Spanking involvers a power exchange, and perhaps the ultimate power exchange (or at least one of them) is for one adult to treat another as a child - hence adult/"child" roleplays and stories.

I'm sure there's much more to it than that, and it's different for different people. Here at th Library there is plenty to ready to cater to all those needs and desires.

Though I do usually not write spanking stories involving children, I can understand the psychology and appeal. As adults we have many responsibilities which weigh upon us. Fantasising/ reliving our childhood's (whether we got spanked or not) allows us to shed those responsibilities for a while.
I suspect for many this is a wonderful release - to feel that freedom and carefree time once more.

As you suspected, there are MANY viewpoints on this subject! Maybe as many viewpoints as there are spanko's on here.

I think you're right, it's more of a game I guess. We act as if it's a punishment when I've been misbehaving (usually flirting with a boy, or being rude and sarcastic), but she only does it because she knows I like it.


I wouldn't say it insults me, but I definitely agree it's much better in my head because they never do it right, and really I mostly find porn gross.

My take on this subject is a little different. I am 86 and only discovered spanking stories about two years ago. I found the Library by accident and have enjoyed reading, writing and exchanging pop-ups so very much. The other members are a terrific bunch of guys and dolls.

I have never been spanked but was caned on hand and seat of shorts in my primary and secondary school. At that time it was more a badge of honour for boys than anything else.

I don't particularly enjoy stories of the spanking of children, especially very young ones. I am also quite upset if the punishment is brutal or extreme. Perhaps because I visualise it as an out let for real desires on the part of the spanker.
I like writing as a female (my pen name is Nancy) and enjoy writing about the spanking of young women. I'd love to be able to put my dream writing into the real world but that is not going to happen so I just indulge my erotic fantasies here.

Like a lot of questions, this one can be taken more than one way. Why SPANKING stories? Because we enjoy the idea of a spanking for many different reasons. The variety of motivations can best be gauged by reading the better stories! Why spanking STORIES? Because fantasy can sometimes improve on fact. Because in a fantasy world things may be permissible or possible that aren't in real life. Because fictionalising a real incident or real feelings can be a good way of approaching and exploring it without too much baggage.

Perhaps so! But even if that were true doesn't it beat any other alternative outlet for those real desires? Especially considering that fiction is noted for its lack of actual victims? And don't those stories serve as safe outlets for not only the author but for potentially thousands of readers?

I did not say that the use of the story as an outlet was a bad thing, in fact it is probably as you imply Guy, a good thing.

I often wonder if the writers of any fantasy stories are not writing about what they would like to do in the real world? Is that a bad thing, not in my opinion because as others have already mentioned it is a perfectly safe way to fill a desire in oneself without any possibility of harming others.

So why spanking stories...as others have already written...to fill a deep and perhaps hidden desire in one's self while not actually doing what they write about. Not talking the extreme punishments here, although there are some in the BDSM world who are into severe spankings, but the average spanking that has a definite affect for the actual moment and a few hours afterward.

For many writing about spanking is a sexual thing as well, which is fine as again it offers the ultimate protection to any who could be harmed if one's acted out their fantasies in real life.

I know for myself before I came on site I wrote stories and then deleted them only to write them again and again. Some of those stories were over 10,000 words and included personal fantasies that in some cases I have not written about here yet as the fear many would think I was slightly nuts, although they many think that already, I don't know. Such stories then and now serve the purpose of letting me express my thoughts and wishes in writing and it appears many of those things will stay as only thoughts and wishes, but at least I can acknowledge them and seek to deal with those feeling in a much better way then pretending those feelings do not exist.
