Why Spanking Stories?

People have always liked stories, one reason is that they allow us to experiment with possible scenarios and get a vicarious thrill from imagining ourselves in the position of the protagonists.

The spanking story is no different, it uses this activity as the centre point about which the tension of the tale is set. It's not just an erotic story because there are the other elements like discipline, responsibility and authority which can be added to the mix, in addition to the undercurrents of guilt and the paradox of the eroticism of deliberately applied pain.

The school setting formalises the fictional world so there are the extra elements of an enclosed society with its own rules and that of powerlessness both in the face of authority bullies. Sometimes the bullies get their comeuppance in the spanking story which makes the world all right again.

The fact that there are so many narrative possibilities in the spanking story does in my opinion account for its fascination.

Excellent point! The human imagination is a wonderful thing. Back in my single days, I used a tiny black & white TV placed on the opposite wall from my easy chair. By today's standards, the image was blurry and indistinct; but that was OK! My mind filled in every detail that my eyes couldn't see. Further, it always personalized the image in a way that pleased me, and portrayed it in brilliant color! What I saw may have been a very different image from what was actually being transmitted; but what's wrong with that?

When I read a spanking story today, that same thing happens in my mind.

I respectfully disagree. I greatly enjoy visual depictions of spankings, especially the more realistic cartoons and drawings of many great (and in some cases, late) spanking artists. I also enjoy videos and movies, although many of them are disappointing in a lot of ways, primarily in terms of realism (i.e., "naughty schoolgirls" with multiple tattoos and piercings who look way too old to be in such a situation).

Although like Seegee I was late coming on the site, a lot of the stories I have written having been going round inside my head for some years. Getting them into print was indeed a form of that lovely word 'catharsis'.

You ask: "Why Spanking Stories." It could be any fetish type story. It stems from our earlier life's experiences. It occurs from some actual reality or from the senses; whether visual, hearing, whatever. My situation was actual. I was spanked at an early age, maybe three years old. I recall being petrified as well as curious, all at the same time. I hated it because of the pain and the ritual itself, but also I was somewhat interested in reading and hearing about it. I never saw a spanking. Once I reached puberty, my curiosity became sexually exciting. I was no longer spanked but was more interested than ever. I not only enjoy reading F/m, but everything else. I even started to enjoy M/m, M/M. m/m in the Library, which was not something I was interested in. There is more to this, since I could fill a page. This basically sums it up.
