flowerchild:
Good Morning everyone! We are all fine. We were lucky in that we got very little rain here, so there will be no flooding. A small town next to us is only just recovering from last years devastation from flooding. A few days without electricity is minor for those who lost everything to five feet of water. I have heard that almost 80% of my town is without electric at this time, and there are many trees down, roads are blocked, but my personal space is high and dry and with all our facilities.
One of the town's wells is across the street from me, and I can hear their generators working, so the power outages are close.
Like Rick said, the Jersey shore is gone, the beaches and the boardwalks. Parts of Manhattan are under water, including I have heard, that the 9/11 Memorial sight is flooded. 50 homes in Queens, NY are on fire, flames fanned by the high winds spread it from one to the other.
I'm glad to hear we here at the library are all safe and sound. fc
PS, thanks to Guy, for suggesting I fill the bathtub with water, for flushing. It was the one thing I hadn't thought of, and though I didn't need it, I discovered my bathtub doesn't hold water overnight. At least half of it has drained away. lol.
Following on from flowerchild's earlier post where she informed us all was well and she still had "all her facilities" ... she later sent us a message via a borrowed IPad. The situation now is that she has no phones, computers, or television.

Poor flowerchild. Hope you get back to normal very soon.
