Yes i have to agree with Sebastion on the preference for shorter stories.

I found that many of the longer ones were extremely well written and held my attention. My trick was to alternate reading the longer ones with the shorter ones... this made the 'challenge' of getting through all the stories in time seem much less daunting.

Some people much prefer short stories. Some, probably fewer, find the shortest stories unsatisfying. A limit as low as 2,000 words - lower than most in the current batch - would be a perefectly reasonable rule for a specific challenge, just as we once had a very tight word limit, flash fiction style - but would be unduly restrictive if repeated for all challenges.

Some writers like to develop character or scene - or indeed spanking description - in a way that does take up more words. Some don't.

That would rule out anything I write then as I tend to write longer than 2000 words on average. There are of course the under 500 word challenges for those who prefer to write snippets... I would find THAT a challenge in itself!

I hope that I can complete the challenge stories. I have read 25, so far. I will try and continue with the rest of the stories.

You're only slihgty behind the pace you need to maintain to finish. Good luck with doing so. If you manage to finish all but 5-10 stories, I'd suggest that you then given the rest whatever "average" score you give the ones you've read (if you tend to rate between 0 and 10, give a 5; if you tend to rate between 6 and 10, give an 8). Although this isn't quite fair to those authors, it maintains teh fairness of the ratings you've given to all the other authors. In case there are more reader/voters doing this, you enhance the fairness by reading the stories randomly rather than in order loaded. If you don't come anywhere close to finishing, then this tactic is a BAD idea. Then the fairest thing to do is to erase all your scores. Just my opinion, of course.

Trying to limit a female in how much she is allowed to say - a challenge indeed!

We just returned from vacation and a little while ago I settled in to sample the challenge offerings. Of the four I reviewed, all were excellent. I plan to read a few each day so I can comment leisurely and savor each. It seems all the authors enter their finest work for a challenge. What a pleasure it is to read everyone's best.

That describes me. I tend to be a bit verbose. I doubt I could write a story of 500 words. It usually takes me more than that to introduce the characters and set the stage. I tend to get emotionally involved with the characters I create as I get inside their heads to see (and say) what makes them tick. For me, the emotional aspect of a spanking is just as important as the physical and when you factor in the motivations and feelings of your characters, you have an infinite variety of unique spanking situations. That being said, I do enjoy reading a good 'short' story also, but I need something other than a standard spanking situation to give it a different twist.

My problem is that I must complete all of the stories. I don't like "average" voting. It wouldn't be fair to the members that were given votes, based on my reading. With regard to reading shorter and then longer stories; well, this challenge, with the exception of very few; they are all long. I would like to read 2,000 or a little more. I would have to admit that the very long stories have been so exceptional. Actually, they all have been exceptional. Such terrific writing.
I use to read, at times, about ten stories per day. Now, just a few. Plus there is so much to do in the LSF. I would love to chat, but who has the time. I would also like to hear the audios, but have only done a couple. I would like to participate far more on the forum. but have never gotten around to write more opinions. I could add more interesting topic of my own, but have not done so. I use to write, many years ago, letters to magazines and then forums on the internet. A few were quite good, some were fair and one was absolutely terrible. So...which one did they like the most, well, you guessed it, the terrible one. Go figure.
Regardless, I am still waiting for Februs to create the virtual reality hologram, so that we can all participate, like they did in Star Trek. Someday, he will create it; not just for the LSF but for all topics. He will be wealthier than Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and the Queen, COMBINED. We can all buy shares in his company.
