Its not used as often as I'd like, but it gets a crowd every once in a while. The more you go there, the more likely you are to attract others to it.

I always look to see if there's anyone in the chat room, but foolishly don't go in if it's empty. If everyone did this it would never be used.
At the bottom of the list of members onlilne you can see who's in the chat room - (lsfbot isn't a memberr but a computer thingummy)

Really? And I felt so happy that at least somebody listened patiently to my stories and never answered back.

If you want to continue an extended conversation you began in a popup- say, when the author thanked you for your comment you made on one of her/his stories, then chat is a good place. The messages flow faster in chat. I did go there once under those circumstances and there was someone waiting for company.

Yeah, IC is right. It's not a good idea to use Pop-Ups for chat. Februs told me once that the system eventually thinks it spam related and you start losing messages.

I went to the chat room, a couple of times. My problem is that there is so much to do the the LSF. I really don't have the time.

Thanks OPB -I hadn't seen the chat-room users but I'll keep an eye on it in future. In the early days I used to look in regularly but only ever had two conversations -one with Flopsy and one with Februs. I've given up trying recently, but I'll now have look most evenings.
Mental note to myself --I must remember not to mention Man City if I chat with Februs (:-
