Also known as toasted skin syndrome, this apparently comes from repeated exposure to bottom warmers (heated car seats.)
I wonder if any of the members of this forum have ever suffered from a similar affliction.

Mention of a hot car seat reminds me of a story I saw once in some magazine. Seems a woman came out of the grocery store who was wearing very short shorts. She realized the sun shining through the window had heated the car seat so that sitting on it would be very unpleasant.
She solved the problem by putting a package of frozen food on the seat for a few minutes to cool it. Very clever indeed.
Of course then it might have been her luck when she got home that she got spanked for wearing such short shorts in public, and ended up with a hot bottom after all.

Surprisingly, quite a few young ladies of my acquaintance seem to suffer from this syndrome from time to time. None of them, as far as I know, have heated car seats - although they do quite often have heated seats in the car....

I still find it amazing that medics still use dog latin to describe conditions.
Is it really necessary to use such silly tactics to try to increase one's self importance and increase the mystery of a job.

I remember going to the doc about a red skin rash which I had, and she identified it with great confidence as "pityriasis rosea" naturally i was impressed till I got home and looked it up in the dictionary...
