At school, we were taught these examples:

The Headmaster said Smith is a good cricketer.

"The Headmaster," said Smith, "is a good cricketer."

And my version at the time: The Headmaster, Said Smith, is a good cricketer.

Pointlessly, but memorably, we were given (imagine two students have done a test on the use of the past tense versus the past perfect tense):
"Smith, while Jones had had "had had", had had "had". "Had had" had had the examiner's approval."

blimp:
A woman without her man is nothing.

The male students wrote:

A woman, without her man, is nothing.

Whilst the female students wrote:

A woman: without her, man is nothing.

and BOTH are right! Both grammatically and logically
