imposing totally unnecessary mechanisms such as the ghastly iTunes software when the natural and more efficient way to load mp3s onto a portable media device is simply to treat it like an external drive.

Amen to that.

I think Pinkangels original post was more correct than given credit for. Liver transplant is not the standard treatment of pancreatic cancer, albeit we have been told that his was not a standard pancreatic cancer. The drugs that Patrick Swayze got for his pancreatic CA are not yet on open release and they may or may not have been given to Mr. Jobs.

Having used some type of computer since the Radio Shack tape computer and other super antiques, the Ipad 1 is the most amazing tool I have ever used. It is not a toy. Thanks to the genius that conceived it.

If by 'it' you mean the tablet PC then it certainly wasn't originally conceived by Jobs or Apple.

That would be the same as giving the Wright brothers credit for the 787 dreamliner. The original concept is very rarely the most usuable form of the concept. So lets give credit to the person that conceived it and credit to the genius who made it so those of us less gifted can use it.

We'll just have to agree to differ on the contribution of Jobs and Apple to the world at large, the merit of tablet PCs and the definition of 'genius'. Only thing I'd personally give Jobs credit for is lining the pockets of Apple shareholders.
