Another movie question

As I may have said before I am a great fan of anything having to do with a woman getting spanked over a swimsuit, especially movies.
I know about The Female Animal, the one-swat to Ava Gardner in On the Beach, and the aborted spanking in Kona Coast.
But years ago I read a MR mag article about cinema spankings that I think mentioned another movie in it. As I recall it said a husband and wife were lying out in swimsuits. The wife got to arguing and he turned her over and spanked the seat of her bathing suit. Thats all I remember. Somehow the name Gordon McRae comes to mind but that may be totally wrong.
Maybe Cfpub would know.

The Gordon McRae reference is probably from On Moonlight Bay (1951) where I believe he swats a young Doris Day a couple of times... but that's not the swimsuit episode you're looking for.

The On Moonlight Bay spanking takes place early in the film. McRae spanks Doris because he thought she was a boy, she was dressed in boyish clothes, so it wasn't over a swimsuit. Oh for the days when it was okay to show a playful spanking on screen.

Oh for the days when if someone witnessed misbehaviour they could step into correct it...
