The following news item was published in the July 1963 issue of MR magazine.
<b>Lancaster, Penn</b> - The tongue evidently is considered potentially more painful that the paddle in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The school board there ruled that it was okay for the teachers to spank unruly kids, but in the process, 'a teacher will refrain from sarcasm or biting remarks that will belittle and humiliate a pupil'.
It sounds pretty reasonable to me. |
