How do you quote someone in the forum?

I see other posters quoting me and other posters with quote boxes, but I can't figure out how to do it myself. When I select Quote on someone's post, it doesn't quote the post, it just puts the poster's screen name in my reply box. For example...

How do you all get quote boxes?

1. Select text you want to quote.
2. Hit the 'Quote' option
