Activity List not working

When I first log on the activity list works fine, but often after popping in and out of various pages when I try to load it again i am instead taken to the home page. I have tried logging off and reloading etc, but it rarely helps. Is this a website issue or my machine misbehaving?

We've had three very severe attacks on the site over recent weeks. Consequently our server became overloaded and our host provider wasn't happy. The Activities function uses a huge amount of resources as it polls all the users of the site to see what they're doing. So Februs has implemented restrictions to minimise server load - you now have 5 refreshes of the activities page and then that's your lot for an hour.

At some point in the future we might revert to how things were but for the time being, the throttle remains
