comment validation?

Have been catching up on some reading and commenting, after so long without adequate computer access. just read a story and posted a comment, and "awaiting validation" came up at top of comments page.
Had successfully posted comments on 2 previous stories I read.
If this is the wrong forum to post this question on,sorry. Just that as long as I have been a member here, never saw anything about comments having to be validated.

Since you were last here we implemented a check for when someone makes multiple comments on a submission. So now the site software checks to see if you've already commented and if so refers the duplicate comment for validation.
