Why can't I post?

I keep getting this message:

What I'm trying to post is certainly not empty or short.

Later: I figured it out ... apparently, copy-and-pasting from something on the web can introduce strange characters (in this case, some kind of quotation marks) which make the Forum software choke.

I had the same problem. According to Februs it can happen if you paste something that is not in pure text format. I recently discovered that it can also happen if you type something that is not a standard character - in my case an em-dash and a special Scandinavian letter (in Norwegian, we have three extra vowels that I don't dare to type here any more!)

This problem has now been fixed.
