I, for one, don't want to start reading a series unless it has been completed. (I've been suckered into starting books in a series that never completed, or where the next book in the series came out so long after the last that I forgot major parts of the story.) I'd like to suggest that authors consider indicating upfront in their descriptions when a submission is the conclusion of a series, and/or that "the Library" itself provide a means for this information to be communicated (perhaps with an additional icon).

This has already been done but you will need to view the serial on the author's page where those serials that are complete are marked as such. In addition, complete serials all have "THE END" added to the text of the final part.
