As a newcomer here I was looking at some old favorites of mine, and notice they did not have their original disclaimers, i.e., fiction-only, don't-believe-in-spanking-children, etc. A lot of them were boilerplate, but many were imaginative or amusing. In my case, when I start uploading stories to the Library, I'll want my introductory remarks and disclaimers kept in full!

On a related matter, since this is a Library, it would also be good for the stories to include their prior posting date(s) and locations, even if some of those sites have evaporated.

We don't include disclaimers.. just the story text and an author's note where it relates directly to the content of the submission. As the site is all fiction it's assumed unnecessary to keep saying so and the spanking of real actual children therefore does not need to be referred to.

We already supply a vast amount of information about each item loaded which takes a great deal of time and effort, there are no plans to increase the workload further by trying to ascertain the original date of posting which is often extremely hard to determine and, in my opinion at least, of limited value.

If disclaimers are important to you then you could add them as a comment.

Just a suggestion.

The author bio is probably the best place for such a declaration if it really has to be made.

Re the dates: what I meant was, that if the date is in the original header material of the story, then it should not be deleted -- not that one should go out and research it if it is missing to begin with. Nice to know that a "classic" has been around for awhile.

PS: spell check thinks Februs should be Zebras...

DISCLAIMERS ARE NOT NEEDED. Besides, it becomes too repetitious. Everyone knows how we all stand. I have mentioned it, at times, in my comments.

I entirely agree, the Library should not and cannot change for one to two writers, what we have is great and there is no need to create extra work.

In my opinion if any story is a classic then it will be recongnized by most viewers in the Library anyway, and if it not recongnized then the classic tag is not needed anyway.

Now just think. If we had disclaimers on all types of stories, the disclaimers would be greater than most stories. By the time I have read all of the disclaimers, I won't have time for the story. I would be too tired.

"Classic" is in the eye of the beholder. It also meets the test of time. We have many authors, who have been writing for many years, have many classics. We all know who they are.

Unlike stories posted on forums and blogs we try to ensure, where possible, that just the story text is loaded to the 'library' archive part of the site. I would hope people reading spanking stories on a site entitled the Library of Spanking Fiction would not infer that the authors were suggesting or encouraging the non-consensual spanking of anyone in real life based on their stories containing such events. Having said that, if an author feels strongly that they want to point such a thing out there is plenty of room to do so on their author page bio (see the author page for Grace Brackenridge for an example).
