What exactly is a spanking/spanko story?

Ahhhh, I pretty much agree with Linda here, even in fantasy I don't care much for mixing incestuous sexual relationships (father/daughter, mother/son, brother/sister, etc.) with family-oriented spankings. However, it's just a fictional account, after all, lots of us write "glowingly" about spanking-related situations that we wouldn't recommend as RL activity--so whatever personally "floats your boat"... --C.K.

I agree.A good story needs a plot ,a theme, a narrative, and in the words of Kurt Vonnegut "a character you can root for".(BEHAVE!!)


The spanking provides titilation and a resolution to the characters within the story. A little tongue in cheek humour helps too! see The Adventures of Dylan and Owl by Robin Williams.

I love a good plot, and dialogue. I am partial to grown schoolgirl spankings and wife disciplinary spankings, including in the inner thigh, and various positions.
But just dialogue would be fine. Good question

It is an excellent question Linda ... like most writers when I started out writing spanking fiction I started out with short stories that had a very specific beginning and end and everything was focused upon the actual spanking action. When we decided to develop the Woody Back to School Unit saga I quickly realized that I needed to focus on creating a whole environment and a cast of characters that had individual personalities and, importantly, speech patterns.

Obviously just chapter after chapter of spanking action over forty full-length books would not only have become repetitive to the reader but, also, intensely boring to write. So throughout the saga I have concentrated more on the plots and the interaction of the individual characters, especially their dialogue, while maintaining the central theme of spanking and corporal punishment.

As you can tell from the responses to your question both readers and writers have quite specific tastes so it is unreasonable to expect to satisfy everybody's taste. Although it is clear that the inmates of the facility are typical young women in their early to mid twenties and are not naïve it is not my personal style to include explicit sexual activity in my stories, I prefer to refer to their liaisons by insinuation rather than going into details.

In conclusion I think that it is most important to indulge yourself in the pure joy of writing about this somewhat esoteric subject. After all, in my thirty five years in the community, I have never heard of any spanking fictionalist who was able to give up their day job to write full-time ... Cheers ... RH

For me, it depends so much on my mood. I've read spanking stories that only had the merest mention or threat of a spanking and yet they were so involving and satisfying. And I've read spanking stories that were just the spanking, with no plot development, and loved them.

But my main pleasure is a spanking story with a strong plot and well-written characters, when the spanking is an integral part of the plot.

I usually get the biggest buzz from stories where there's some non-consensual power play, where the big strong forceful Dom takes charge - but always for the best of reasons!

Since sex and spanking go so well together, for me, the stories I like the most are usually those where there's some kind of romantic relationship between the two. But other power relationships can also be interesting to explore sometimes, things like judicial punishments.

I'm not into the incest ones, or kids. To me, spanking is for grown-ups!
