I'd like to know why some stories get so many more reads than others. Do you choose by looking at the synopsis (if available) or the title? Do you go for a favourite author - orientation - or perhaps look at those stories which others have read and/or commented on?

How do you decide?

Mostly I look for short, short stories. Unless I have a lot of time on my hands, I'm seeking a quick fix when it come to spanking fiction. But anything that suggests bare bottoms, hairbrush, and other more or less childish themes will probably get my attention.

Interesting question.

Since I'm new here, I'm first looking at the authors with the largest amount of stories first. I'm not reading every story they have, but since they have so many, I can assume they enjoy writing spanking stories and are likely good at it.

I prefer longer stories with many chapters, because I like to really get to know the characters. How do I choose after that? Well besides looking at the type, ie M/F, then I look at the title and hope it has something to spark my interest.

Once I do find an author I really like, then I usually read all the stories they have written.

I've been reading the stories for years, so I have a lot of favourite authors, most of them here I've read unless they've recently written some new ones. I tend to look for authors I like or F/M & F/F orientation as that's what I write mostly and what I prefer.

The title is what usually catches me, if it promises the kind of buzz I'm looking for at that moment I'll dive in. Or if it's clever or quirky. Once I enjoy a story, I seek out the rest by that author. And if I've enjoyed stories by an author, I'll automatically read the rest of their stories as they show up.

Sometimes I'll do a search here for a particular implement, again it depends on my mood, but I tend to slide towards the fiercer end of the scale.

Very good question!
I like M/F stories (no poems or songs), all scenarios and throughout the whole age range.
So...
First, I go to the 'Latest' tab and if an author I like has posted I will go there.
Second, if no known author, I will look at the title and if that fits, then at the key (if one exists).
Finally, its all about the opening 2 paragraphs! I just get a sense from the opening style if it is going to do it for me or not - even if the storyline is weak or very common, if it is well written, then that is good enough.

well, for me anyway!

One of the surest ways to get me to click on the story is the have it labeled with orientation or content, specifically F/M to get my attention. Its amazing how many of the new stories listed under latest don't give any clues about what they are, so I end up not clicking at all.

It's not so amazing really. Newly loaded stories have yet to be checked by the validaters. When time allows, we read them, edit them if necessary, add a synopsis, put in orientation and implements used, check off the ages of the spanking participants, then validate them.

Eventually, we will have them all done, but in the meantime, please have patience.

It's equally amazing that a small group of willing volunteers give up their spare time for no commercial gain to help provide a fantastic free resource for people.

Given a large number of people have given up a very large amount of their time to write synopses (over 5,000 written so far) and classify the library contents, not to mention locate, format, load, correct and index stories I find your attitude the thing that's "amazing". Perhaps you'd like to volunteer to write some yourself rather than bitching about it. And for the record and avoidance of doubt the "latest" loaded stories will ALWAYS be without synopses and classification so I'd suggest given your outlook you steer well clear of them.
