Not at all, Mr Blimp. It was the subject matter and the general atmosphere of your writing.

Besides, when I mentioned punctuation being a clue, I didn't necessarily mean incorrect punctuation. Some writers have a fondness for semi-colons, or they use single inverted commas rather than the more usual double for speech. Some use a double hyphen for a dash, some use ellipsis.

So worry not, my friend!

I didn't try to identify authors, but I read one and thought "That has to be a flopsybunny". It was Janine's. But at least I got the sex right.

Well, this is surely the place for smartasses, as there are plenty of volunteers to make them smart. As for "getting the sex right", I did nearly add "or gender, in case I'm misunderstood", but I thought, what the hell, if I'm misunderstood some poor deeb (a word I've learnt from the Doonesbury cartoons) will get fun out of it...

Though in fact the Sex Right is an ancient English law dating from the reign of King Ethelred the Unready and applying to any female bottom found within the lord's hundred on a full moon in February...
