Geoffrey:
Not a story, but a year or so ago, someone here, posted links to wedding videos made as such things usually are, for the participants and guests to enjoy long after the event.
They came from weddings in, I believe, an East European country where spanking the bride was a traditional part of the wedding reception/party. If I remember correctly, she was usually taken over the lap of her father or the bridegroom and the guests took turns to spank her clothed bottom.
I've never heard of this tradition, but have no doubt in some culture it does happen.
In a series of mine named, "The Princess and the Carpenter," where a Princess and a Master Carpenters son fall for each other and marry. The Carpenters village has a tradition where in the days before a wedding, the bride and groom are each spanked by their own parents, and the in laws to be. This starts five nights before the wedding. With them being spanked by their own parents the first two nights, then by their future in laws the next two nights. Finally, the night before the bride is spanked by the groom, and finally, on the wedding night, the bride spanks the groom before consummating the relationship.
The rationale is for this to show solidarity and authority for each other to be shared by both families, and passed down to the bride and groom, and to show the bride and groom they are to be accountable to each other, and both are to be punished when needed.
