Just reread that one recently. That story might take the prize for Most Tragically Unfinished Series on the site. It ends on a cliffhanger with the hapless (and very petite) protagonist Penelope trying on a schoolgirl uniform in a uniform shop, wearing the store owner’s patience thin, and being thoroughly embarrassed by the taunts of her (much, much taller) nemesis, Amelia Jane.
No synopsis truly does it justice, though. The last installment came years ago; some of us hope imreadonly2 will eventually add more installments.
* Did Penelope fall off the stool and break something expensive, or did someone else break it and blame it on Penelope?
* Will the shopkeeper’s patience run and and will he ask Amelia Jane to take Penelope home whether the girl agrees or not?
* If Penelope is stuck for the weekend living under Amelia Jane’s roof, how long before she manages to get herself in trouble and earns herself a trip over Amelia Jane’s knees?
* What if Penelope somehow has to spend the entire summer living at Amelia Jane’s?
* Will Amelia Jane contact the school and tell them she’s Penelope’s aunt - and ask them to call her at any time - especially if Penelope misbehaves at school?
* And if so, does getting a spanking at school mean Penelope would get a spanking at home from her “aunt” Amelia Jane?
Fans of the story agree, these questions can only be answered by more installments in the series. |
