"Still a Mom" by KDPierre is one such story, where both are adults.

"Fate takes a hand" by KFR, is another.

I've read several of those. Good stories.
Not to muddy the waters, but one could also broaden this theme in a few ways...
Instead of asking directly, leave unmistakable hints or clues.
Also the idea of 'asking' wives, girlfriends or other ladies.

It does sound like a fun concept. Haven't read much over here but there were a few with adult sons asking their mothers that I remember reading many years ago. I'm tempted to try starting a story on the subject, personally.
