Hi, all. I'm a prospective LSF author getting ready to make my first submission. To avoid the embarrassment of posting something that requires Validators to spend extra time cleaning it up, I'd like to run a draft by a kind volunteer or two.
If you are willing, I will send you my story and ask you to read it with a critical eye. Not for issues of taste or plot, but for more simple errors. Did I accidentally change from past to present tense? "They're" for "there"? Semicolon where a colon belongs? That kind of thing. The mistakes should out at you if you're reading line by line.
ME: American English native speaker. I am a long-winded and passionate girl-girl spanking fan who knows how to use a spell checker. But I get lost in my own subordinate clauses and accidentally misuse words or abuse punctuation.
YOU: A close reader who can take more than a few minutes to spot subtle mistakes. You are self-confident enough to point out my errors, even ones of subjective judgment rather than published law, without worrying that I'll take offense.
PAYMENT: Hearts and rainbows. And sincere gratitude.

If this interests you, please private message me or reply here with info on how to be contacted.
Thanks,
Sammi
P.S. Bonus points for spotting my careless mistakes in this posting. I'll ask my husband to give me a few good smacks for each one you find.
